Project Overview

MatriCare Hospital's management system is built on the Smart Hospital script (CodeCanyon, by QDOCS) — a comprehensive hospital automation platform covering 30+ modules. The script was purchased and then extensively customized to match the client's specific hospital workflows, branding, and operational requirements. The system manages the full hospital lifecycle from patient OPD/IPD visits, doctor appointments, pharmacy, pathology, radiology, blood bank, billing, staff HR & payroll, to patient document management — all through a multi-role admin panel supporting Super Admin, Admin, Doctor, Accountant, Pathologist, Radiologist, Receptionist, and Patient roles.

Technical Approach

Base script: Smart Hospital v4.0 (CodeCanyon) built on CodeIgniter (PHP framework) with MySQL database. Customization work included rebranding the entire system to match MatriCare Hospital's identity, configuring all hospital-specific modules (departments, doctors, bed types, medicine categories, test types), adapting the billing structure to match the client's fee schedule, setting up staff roles and access permissions, and configuring SMS/email notification flows. Also handled subdomain hosting setup under torufurniturebd.com, database configuration, and server deployment with environment-specific settings.

Challenges & Solutions

The main challenge was adapting a large, generic hospital management system — with 30+ modules and 8 user roles — to the specific operational structure of MatriCare Hospital without breaking core interdependencies between modules (e.g. billing linked to OPD/IPD/pharmacy/pathology). Carefully mapped the client's existing workflow to the system's module configuration. Custom fields were used extensively to add hospital-specific data points without modifying core code. Role permissions were fine-tuned so each staff type (receptionist, doctor, accountant) only accessed relevant modules.

Outcome

Successfully deployed a fully operational hospital management system for MatriCare Hospital, digitalizing their entire patient management, billing, pharmacy, and HR operations. The system replaces manual/paper-based processes with a centralized digital platform accessible to all staff roles through a single web-based interface.
