empex.com.bd is the official corporate website and product catalog platform for Empex Medical System, one of Bangladesh's leading medical and health equipment suppliers established in 2017. The platform showcases a comprehensive catalog of 12+ medical equipment categories — from IVD laboratory equipment and radiology/X-ray systems to ICU/NICU units, OT equipment, patient monitoring, physiotherapy, and respiratory systems. The site serves hospitals, diagnostic centers, clinics, and laboratories across Bangladesh and features 20+ global brand partnerships including Mindray, Olympus, Zeiss, and Contec. Built with a full custom CMS for managing products, partners, clients, news, blogs, gallery, job listings, and service requests.

Technical Approach

Built with Laravel as the full backend framework with Blade templating for the frontend. Developed a hierarchical product catalog system supporting 3-level navigation (Category → Subcategory → Product) with SEO-friendly slugs for every product and category page. The deep dropdown mega-menu was built to handle 12 main categories and 60+ subcategories without performance issues using efficient query scoping and caching. Separate CMS modules were built for managing clients, partners, management team, branches, gallery (image & video), news, blogs, jobs, technical support requests, complaints, and campaign registrations — all from a single admin panel. WhatsApp chat button integrated via wa.link for direct customer communication.

Challenges & Solutions

The biggest challenge was designing a clean, navigable product catalog across 12 major categories and 60+ subcategories of highly technical medical equipment — each with different spec requirements. Solved by building a flexible 3-level category system where subcategories and products can have custom descriptions, multiple images, and specification fields without a rigid schema. The mega-dropdown navigation required careful performance tuning to avoid N+1 query issues when loading all categories and subcategories on every page. The client management, partners, and multi-branch sections were kept as independent CMS modules so non-technical staff could update them easily.

Successfully delivered a professional corporate platform for Empex Medical System that showcases their full product range to hospitals, diagnostic centers, and healthcare institutions across Bangladesh. The platform supports clients including Bangladesh government bodies, DGMS, DGDP, Bangladesh Army, BSMMU, BRAC, Rajshahi University, United Hospital, EXIM Bank Hospital, and Mugda Hospital — establishing Empex's digital presence as one of Bangladesh's top 10 medical equipment providers.
